Schroon Lake Beach
The Schroon Lake Beach is my personal favorite Adirondack beach! I have a selfish reason for this! Maybe some of you are like me in that I love sandy beaches, but after awhile I get “all beached out” with … sand - sand - sand … everywhere! I need some nice green grass under my feet so I don’t feel so hot and dry. That’s one thing I really like about the Schroon Lake Public Beach. There is lots of grass rising uphill from the beach area and an awesome view of Schroon Lake.
The public sandy beach is well groomed with plenty of beach area. The swimming area is spacious and there is a big float in the deep area for jumping and sunbathing.
Another thing I like about the Schroon Lake beach is that there are always plenty of things to do. There is an area to picnic and a recreation area for basketball, tennis, and other activities very close by. Schroon Lake Village is a just a block away with plenty of shops and places to eat. There are often events happening at the top of the hill just up from the beach area and usually plenty of vendors for lunch and snacks. The Annual Arts & Crafts Fair is held during July and there are several other activities throughout the summer/fall, including a magnificent July 4th fireworks show.
There is a public boat launch right next to the beach and room to dock your boat. If you are staying anywhere on the lake and have a boat, just dock at the beach and have a fun day! Another great thing about this beach is that the Schroon Lake Boathouse Theater is right there. Throughout the year there are numerous events held including, plays, auctions, and other activities.
Like I said … This is my favorite Adirondack Beach! … Try it. … I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
