Gull Pond

Gull Pond

Gull Pond: Do you want to experience some of the shortest yet truly awesome Adirondack Mountain hiking? This is among the shortest and easiest Adirondack trails in the Adirondack Park.

Again, It’s is one of our favorites (seems like they all are!). This is a small pond with beautiful views and a peaceful setting.

The hike to the pond is only 0.45 miles (15 minutes!) from the parking area. The trail is over fairly flat terrain with minimal elevation change and is well marked.

When you reach the pond there are tall pines and a rocky area for great picnicking and swimming. There is a small cliff (10 feet!) which is great for jumping into the water. We do it all the time!

You can circle around Gull Pond pond (by improvising). On the other side of the pond there is an awesome cliff and a beautiful view. We haven’t climbed it (yet!) but some say it makes for some great Adirondack photos! Also, rumor has it that the pond is stocked and has a good reputation for trout fishing.

This is such an easy hike that you can bring a canoe or kayak. We often bring our kayak and just paddle around or go to the other side where the giant cliff is. Most always there is a loon in the pond with us at the same time.
