Eagle Point State Campground

There are currently 72 wooded tent, trailer and RV sites, each with a fireplace and a picnic table.

Facilities include restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, a recycling center, a trailer dump station, and a boat launch. There is also a picnic area with tables, fireplaces, charcoal grills and a no swimming beach available for day use visitors (... I guess swimming is only available to campers).

Eagle Point Campground has a nice beach area!

Motor boats (… a boat launch is available), rowboats, kayaks and canoes are welcome at the campground and on Schroon Lake in general. The lake is 9 miles long and 1.5 miles wide at its widest point. It is a fairly deep lake with a maximum depth of 152 feet

There are plenty of things to see and do in the area but probably not the same amount and variety as Hearthstone Point Campground on Lake George. (… but sometimes that’s a good thing!)

The fishing is good which includes lake trout, large-mouth bass, small-mouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, bullhead, and pickerel.

There are plenty of good hiking trails in the area. Here are just a few.

There are also plenty of restaurants, gift stores, antique shops, and a variety of craft shops nearby. Here is a partial list of area attractions, including Natural Stone Bridge and Caves which is only a couple of miles away.

The quaint villages of Chestertown, Schroon Lake, and Pottersville are nearby (… Pottersville being the closest to Eagle Point), and have numerous gift shops, craft stores, antique shops, restaurants and other stores (food, drug, hardware, etc) .
