5K Burgher Dash

The 5K Burgher Dash was held for the first time in 2010. Current plans are to hold the race annually on the second Saturday of May. So check our Adirondack events calendar for the specific date each year.

The 5k race starts and ends at the Warrenburg Elementary school located at 1 James Street Warrensburg, NY.

I believe the course is fast and pretty flat with just a couple of hills (… but I haven’t actually run this course to know for sure). There is also a children's fun run following the main race.

Runners of all ages are welcome to participate in this event (… walkers are encouraged to join in as well). Race organizers really want this race to grow over the years and encourage as many people to participate in this fun event.

The entry fee (… reduced for students) is to benefit the Warrensburg playground development fund, which is great for the kids in the community.

The local ambulance squad and county police provide assistance with safety along the course.

Parking is available in the parking lots at the school and restrooms are located in the school building.

To register ahead of time just mail the registration form and fee by the end of April ( … to Warrensburg Elementary School Playground fund, 1 James street, Warrensburg, NY 12885 or visit active.com).

Registration and packet pick up the day of the event is usually 7:30am-9:15am. There is also an early bird packet pick up the day before in the late afternoon.

T-shirts are provided and awards are given to the top 3 male and female finishers overall, as well as children who participate in the fun run. As the 5k Burgher Dash grows in popularity additional age group awards may be added.
