Adirondack Running

Have you caught the Adirondack running bug?, Running in the Adirondack Mountains is a splendid place to partake in the sport. The choices of running routes are endless. The countryside and environment are some of the most enjoyable you’ll ever witness. Whether you are one to just enjoy the exercise and meditation of a long run/jog, or if you love to compete, you’ll love the ADK Park! In the links that follow I will attempt to introduce you to several of the running races located around the Loon Lake, Schroon Lake, Lake George, Brant Lake, North Creek & Warrensburg area. I will also show you a few of my favorite running routes around the Loon Lake and Schroon Lake region (near where my vacation home is located). Running Races: 6 miles to the top of Prospect Mountain, Lake George. (Usually 2nd Saturday in May). Kids’ Fun Run after race, Warrensburg, 9:30am, (third Saturday in May for 2010),(518) 623-5055. 10 miles, Lake George to Bolton Landing. (Sunday preceding July 4th) 8.4 miles, Riparius to North Creek. (Usually 1st Saturday in August). Schroon River to Suzie Q”s Café, Brant Lake. (Usually 1st Sunday in August). . (Usually 3rd Saturday in September). 2 person relay and Full Marathon, Schroon Lake. (Usually 3rd Sunday in September). various track events, Queensbury High School (Tuesdays starting in the beginning of June until the end of July) A few of My Favorite Running Routes: 7.9 mile run (loop) - Schroon Lake to Loon Lake:
14 mile run (one way)
4.4 mile run (round trip) - Loon Lake to Chestertown:
9 miles (round trip)
