OP Fredericks Restaurant

OP Fredericks Restaurant

Let me start by saying OP Fredericks Restaurant and Tavern is one of our favorite places to eat.

Not only because of the fantastic selections, but also because it’s quaint, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent and friendly.

Oh yeah… and I can actually walk there from our chalet, that is if we want to (it’s only a half mile away!).

...But if you do (unlike me), bring a flash light because the road back at night is so dark that you can’t see 2 feet in front of you on a cloudy night!! That was an experience!!!

OP Fredericks, a local favorite, serves fantastic food in a casual dining atmosphere, the way I like it.

If you have one of those fancy formal Adirondack restaurants in mind, keep looking for one of those reserved Adirondack resorts!

The atmosphere at the restaurant is warm and friendly. It’s a nice place to eat with family and friends and just take it easy.

The menu has a variety of choices including various creative and innovative entries with chicken, steak, seafood, pasta, and duck.

Or if you prefer they also have burgers and sandwiches, and salad dishes. They have daily specials. …Who knows! Maybe even some Adirondack trout or Adirondack Venison? They also have a children's menu.

The appetizers are great too.. … Try the bacon wrapped shrimp or the potato skins, they’re scrumptious! My kids love the fried cheese sticks! And of course they have desserts. ... Excellent!

The owner, Bob Frederick, is very accommodating and genuinely friendly. He most always stops by your table to ask how you’re doing and if your meal is good.

OP Fredericks restaurant has great character, delightfully rustic in a genuine Adirondack setting. The walls are decorated with many Adirondack style items that add to the atmosphere.

The restaurant sits at the junction of Rt. 8 & 9. Loon Lake is right there! In the evening you can view beautiful sunsets and maybe even see a magnificent loon diving for its dinner! …. After all, that’s how the lake got its name!!

OP Fredericks Restaurant3 One of my favorite times to go to this restaurant is on one of those cold snowy Adirondack winter nights and just sit in the bar area and enjoy a delicious entre or burger and some drinks.

There is a wood burning stove right there which makes it warm and cozy and adds to the rustic charm of the restaurant. For you skiers, it’s only 15 minutes from Gore Mountain!

OP Fredericks Restaurant 4 They also offer take-out service and catering service for parties and get-togethers. I believe they also own the quaint Alp Horn Motel right next door.

OP Fredericks is a dining tradition for us. I highly recommend this restaurant!

If you go, don’t forget to tell Bob Frederick that Jeff (from Loony-About-Adirondacks) sent you!
