Lizzie Keays

Lizzie Keays is another good Adirondack restaurant located in Warrensburg, New York in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. The building that the restaurant is located in was once the home of the historic “Empire Shirt Factory”. The restaurant has an late 1800s/early 1900s upstate NY Adirondack factory theme to it in a comfortable/relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was named after Elizabeth Keays (... who else!!). Elizabeth lived in Warrensburg for most of her life, much of which was spent working right in the same building as a seamstress (… at the Empire Shirt Factory).
If you spend much time in Warrensburg you will be sure to hear some townspeople say that their mother or grandmother worked in that same building. So … Although the restaurant is named after Elizabeth Keays it is really in honor of generations of “every woman” who labored at the shirt factory, and in similar factories/workshops of the Adirondacks and across the northeast. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday serving lunch and dinner. The lunch menu consists of specialty sandwiches (… or “ build your own sandwich”), half sandwich & cup of soup, and a variety of fresh salads. The dinner menu items include steak, beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes. There are also nightly specials and homemade desserts (… There is a lot to choose from!). Many of entrées are made from fresh, locally grown ingredients. This helps to maintain Lizzie Keays healthy theme and support the local community.
As of now we haven’t had dinner at the eatery but we did have lunch, and we both thought it was very good (… and very reasonably priced). If you decide to go, don’t forget to them that Jeff (from Loony-About-Adirondacks) sent you!
