Adirondack Snowmobiling

Adirondack snowmobiling includes hundreds of miles of well groomed trails. Some argue that these are some of the best trail systems in the eastern USA.

The natural beautiful of the Adirondack Mountains in the winter is incredible.

Whether you ride the unspoiled back country trails of the Adirondack Park or pass by the historical villages and hamlets, you are guaranteed to have a thrilling and delightful Adirondack snowmobiling experience.

If you are visiting the Loon Lake, Brant Lake, Chestertown, Pottersville, Warrensberg, or Lake George area the Northern Warren Trailblazers Snowmobile Club has a trail map that shows more than 80 miles of groomed trails. I’m sure other maps are also available at a local chamber of commerce. Below is a fairly accurate view of the trail.

I don’t have a snowmobile (…yet!!!), but when I get one I will be able to access the trail right from my chalet at Loon Lake. (...The trail is easy to get to, just on the other side of the lake, near the public beach!)

Along or near the trail there are warm and comfortable places to find accommodations. There are also many restaurants and taverns to stop in, rest and get warm by the fire (… like the Once Upon A Moouse Cafe!).

I’m always in awe of the fun the snowmobile riders have. They are usually friendly people and glad to make new friends, even If you are visiting the area for a winter getaway.

Looking for a Place to Stay Nearby:

Have fun and be safe:

  • If possible follow a friend, acquaintance, or guide who knows the territory
  • Ride in Groups when possible
  • Have a map and always carry a compass or GPS
  • Stop at road crossings
  • Be familiar with trail markers and signs
  • Dress appropriately
  • Stay in control
